A LITTLE HISTORY
La Belle Victorienne is two ancestral homes.
The Merry Pavilion, built around 1885, was owned by Mr. Murch Judd, a shopkeeper whose family was one of the first to settle in Hatley Township. In fact, at the time Mr. Judd also owned the vast majority of the lands on Abbott Street and a few lots on Merry North Street. In 1920, the current Victorian property will be valued at $ 3900...
The Abbott Pavilion, will be built between 1896 and 1901, also by Mr. Murch Judd. The vernacular American dwelling, valued at $ 850 at the time, is now classified as heritage.
La Belle Victorienne will open its doors as a bed and breakfast in 1994 with a single establishment, the Merry pavilion! The Abbott Pavilion will be sold in June 2020 to be transformed into a private residence. The Hébergia team managed everything for more than 20 years until January 2021. In January 2021, the Merry pavilion, La Belle Victorienne is sold to Madame Natalie Daviault & Monsieur Régent Gamache, they decide to establish there their private residence and leave their native region of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. A dream of many years to own and operate a shelter is coming true despite the fact that we are in the midst of a pandemic.
The couple make the purchase without any immediate expectations and are thinking about future plans.
